Example of merit criteria:
The Catfish and the Bottlemen tour video maintains the central themes and branding from the print campaign, The use of black and white images is uncomplicated and maintains a classic and timeless monochrome look. The fonts and logos for the band and the tour dates are also consistent. The use of footage from the live shows brings the audience into the like experience and build on the band as encouraging participation and community with their fans . - an important factor in this genre.
The representation of the band as as an alternative indie group is followed through in their videos. In the video for Cocoon they replicate scenes from the edgy and groundbreaking film 'One Flew Over the Cookoos Nest' .
The video below for the single 'Pacifier' depicts the band in' what we think is about to be a fight, with a group of 'casuals', when in fact they are mixing it up in an underground football match. This keeps the bands alternative look at the same time as showing a nod an a wink to a broader mod and casual culture for who the music might also appeal too!
These themes are followed through in the bands social media campaigns and merchandise, with the monochrome and simple line drawing art a feature on T-shirts, badges and jewellery!
